Home center v2.3 is available!

New in this version

• The interface for the dimmers changed! This now works like the dimmers on the iPad/iPhone which are experienced as more intuitive by our customers.
  • A short press will operate the dimmer on/off
  • A long press will popup the window for detailed operation of the dimmer. This screen now has the same preset values as the dimmer on iPad/iPhone.
  • You can now choose a vertical dimmer as icon.
• Velbus momentaries are automatically recognized in Home center (eg. a doorbell)
• Buttons can be scaled, this is done per zone
• Auto-configuration for initial installation with 1 click
• Full reset makes automatically a default configuration
• iPhone (full version): the list of components is now alphabetically to find the desired output faster!
• Improved interface for the user management

Bug fixes

• Error when starting the Home center windows client, which could only be resolved by removing the corrupt configuration files
• When there was no connection to the bus, the screen remained empty
• Added some more files to the backup
• Improved communication stability
• Pass through function for the Serial Manager of Qbus didn’t work in the previous version.

Reminder

• Since v2.2.0.0 you must login to Home center with a user name and password.
• VelbusLink 8.4.26 or newer is required to configure the bus through Home center! (pass through function)
• Please first uninstall the previous version.
• Make sure to update all Home center clients installed in your network to the new version.
• Check the App Store to see if you have the latest version of the Home center App.

Qbus SER02 and CTD3 are still supported!

Home center v2.2.0.5 is available!

Important improvements

• Navigation bar:
  • The text of a zone can be displayed in the bar, with or without icon
  • The icons of the zones have to be set in the zone editor through ‘Manage zones’ in stead of ‘Compose bar’. This way you are able to assign an icon to each zone in stead of only those on the navigation bar. This is an improvement for the iPhone app.
• VELBUS: operating a vmbdmi wasn’t correct when clicking the ‘+’. Clicking the ‘+’  sets the dimmer to the ‘last value’.

Other improvements

• If names of module parts change in the bus, the new names are also shown in Home center, after executing ‘Read changes’.
• Login: the default user is suggested in the login at first start or when clicking ‘Log on’ in the ‘Settings’
• Login: the cross in the right top corner of the login screen only closes the window in stead of the entire application.
• ‘About’ screen: better license information
• CAMERA: to have a good working camera it must be set to mjpeg format (a message is displayed if the camera isn’t configured correctly)
• Zone editor: the items in the lists are ordered alphabetically
• Zone editor: opens faster (large installations)
• Better elimination of macro’s that do not longer exist
• On some screens the icon to open the on screen keyboard was missing.

With the launch of Home center v2.2 we continue our special action for our current customers:
License renewal + upgrade for iPhone and iPad. Price 124,95 euro + 99,95 euro 199,95 euro (VAT incl.)

Important

From this version you must login to Home center with a user name and password. This is to improve security for remote connections. User name and password can be stored, so you don’t need to fill them in each time.
These user names are installed by default:
User name: admin            Password: admin
User name: homecenter   Password: homecenter
The admin user has full control in Home center, like in previous version.
The homecenter user is only allowed to operate buttons.

We advice you to change the default users. This can be done with the HCAdmin application, available in the Start menu of Windows after the installation.

VelbusLink

To configure the bus with VelbusLink via Home center (pass through function) VelbusLink 8.4.6 is required!
And visa versa: if you have an older version of Home center, the pass through function will not work any more from VelbusLink 8.4.6

Other improvements

Also the following improvements were made

• If the connection with Home center server was broken and you altered the zones, the changes weren’t stored
• Sometimes a background image of a previous zone sticked to screen when opening another zone
• Automatic detection of the port of Home center server
• When doing an auto-create of the zones (magic wand at Manage zones) no more empty zones are created. For instance when there are no thermostats there will be no zone for thermostats
• Full reset: throws the entire configuration away (careful with that), Read changes: only reads modifications in the bus, doesn’t throw anything away
• Internal changes to improve stability

Make sure to upgrade all Home center clients installed in your network to the new version.
